Kelly Towing handles impounds for municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies across Scranton and Lackawanna County. Here's everything you need to know to get your vehicle released.
To retrieve your vehicle from Kelly Towing, you must be able to provide the following documentation. Please review all requirements before coming to our facility at 736 South Main Avenue, Scranton PA.
To drive your vehicle out — all three required
Photo ID
State-issued ID, Military ID, or Passport. Must match the name on the registration or title.
Registration or Title — proof of ownership
Must match the Photo ID presented. Both documents must be in the same name.
Valid Insurance Card
Current, valid auto insurance for the vehicle being released.
Current State Safety Inspection (PA vehicles)
Vehicle must have a current, valid Pennsylvania safety inspection sticker.
Licensed driver to operate the vehicle
A valid driver's license is required to drive the vehicle off our lot.
Cannot meet all requirements? If you cannot satisfy all criteria, the vehicle must be towed from our facility. Call us at 570-941-2480 to arrange this.

Municipal, State & Federal Agency Holds
Vehicles towed by Municipal or State police agencies may be placed on hold status, meaning the vehicle is not available for customer access or release until authorized by the law enforcement agency.
These vehicles require an official release authorization from the law enforcement agency that ordered the tow. The agency must contact us directly:

Release acknowledgement
A release acknowledgement form is required for all vehicle releases. You can download the PDF below and bring it completed to our facility, or complete the process online through our release portal.
